COVID Update

At The Springs of Vernon Hills, we are committed to the health, safety and well-being of our residents and our team. COVID-19 has had a monumental impact on seniors across the country and the world. They have been impacted by not only the virus, but in many instances even more so by the restrictions of social distancing. According to the American Psychological Association, social isolation can have the same impact as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. Our team makes sure our residents don’t experience the negative impacts of this pernicious virus. We follow all infection control best practices and regulations as guided by The Centers for Disease Control, Illinois Department of Public Health and Lake County Department of Public Health.

All residents and staff have been offered the opportunity to receive the COVID vaccine, as an important step to getting life back to “normal”. Those who are vaccinated have done so to protect themselves and each other. In addition to being vaccinated, we continue to practice safe protocols for the following:

  • Social distancing
  • Mask wearing
  • Hand hygiene
  • PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • Frequent cleaning of high-touch surfaces throughout the building
  • COVID-19 testing
  • Health screening

We are proud to have recently received a Deficiency-Free survey distinction from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Our team works tirelessly to make sure we adhere to the highest level of infection control standards. During this global COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented and followed stringent safety protocols as dictated by Lake County Public Health, Illinois Department of Public Health, and the Centers for Disease Control.
